Alongside the Xiangjiang River in the westand facing the Yuelu Mountain in the east, Xingcheng-based Hunan ChildrensHospital is dedicated to children's health.

Openingits doors on June 1, 1987, Hunan Childrens Hospital (hereinafter referred toas the Hospital) is located at 86 Ziyuan Road, Changsha and covers a landarea of 82 mu (1 mu = 0.16 acre). Rated as one of the first Class III Grade Igeneral childrens hospitals in 1995, the Hospital has implemented JCIAccreditation Standards for Hospitals from 2013 to 2015.

Furnished with 1,800 beds and staffed with1,800 employees, the Hospital has established 36 clinical departments and 9medical labs. The Pediatric ICU (PICU) is a key national clinical department,and Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, Surgery, Infectious Diseases, Rehabilitation,and Nursing are selected as key provincial clinical departments. By far, theHospital has set up Hunan Provincial Pediatric Emergency Center, HunanProvincial Treatment and Rehabilitation Center of Pediatric Cerebral Palsy,Hunan Provincial Center of Adolescent Medicine, Hunan Provincial Prevention andControl Center of Pediatric Optometry, Amblyopia, and Strabismus.
